A FISHERMAN in the
Philippines may have stumbled
across the largest natural pearl
in existence – and kept it hidden
under his bed for 10 years.
The man did not realise the
significance of his find, which
weighed in at 34kg and is valued
at about US$100 million.
It was discovered when the
man’s wooden shack caught fire
and the pearl is now on display
at the Puerto Princesa City Hall.
