A petition to resume cruising in Australia lodged by Deluxe Travel & Cruise Director Sharon Summerhayes has been presented to the House of Representatives.
The petition requests the lifting of the ban on foreign-flagged ships, the allowance for cruising to resume in Australia with Aussies on board, and for cruising’s inclusion in travel bubbles.
“There are ways to safely get vaccinated crew and ships to Australia, and with careful health and safety measures, domestic cruising can resume with Australians on board,” the petition argues.
“We are already granting entry exemptions for thousands of overseas workers to support industry – crew are no different.”
