WITH Vanessa Green, BDM NSW/ACT, Norwegian Cruise Line – Tell us what your favourite part of your job is: I love talking about incredible experiences, wonderful destinations and having the opportunity to play a small part in helping people create lifelong memories!

2. What attracted you to a career in the cruise industry?

The clients! I love how passionate and loyal cruisers are — they are always so excited about the experiences to be had on board.

3. What is key to success in the cruise industry?

We know that guests are booking their cruise itinerary early and before any other component of their holiday, which is what we need to be looking at now.

4. How has COVID-19 changed the way you do your job?

Looking to the future and how we will regenerate has us all thinking a little outside the box. I love that no idea is off the table.

5. What is the best thing to say to people who are hesitant to cruise?

NCL has spent the past year further developing and refining our already robust health and safety protocols, ensuring that we are delivering an exceptional experience!

6. What are you most looking forward to?

I’m just feeling lucky to be NCL’s NSW BDM. I’m looking forward to welcoming our valued travel partners and guests aboard when Norwegian Spirit joins us for her upcoming Australian summer sailing season!

7. How do you wind down after a busy week?

I love meeting friends for a glass of wine!

8. The celebrity you would most like to cruise with?

Well it couldn’t be a singer, because I wouldn’t want them to show me up during karaoke…!

9. What should the cruise ship of the future look like?

NCL already has some awesome innovations onboard – from incredible experiential attractions like go kart tracks to The Haven by Norwegian — an exclusive and luxurious ship-in-ship experience.
