Island Escape sinks into receivership

NEW Zealand-based Island Escape Cruises has had receivers appointed, with the line’s 32-guest Island Escape also understood to have been arrested in the Port of Broome where it has lain idle while successive departures of the company’s foundering Kimberley 2022 season were cancelled (CW 22 Jul, CW 08 Aug).

LAST night saw Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) and its members host a #LoveCruise welcome cocktail party to celebrate the today’s Cruise360 conference. Held at Cafe del Mar Sydney at Cockle Bay Wharf, the night brought together the Australian cruise community for the first time in almost three years, as it celebrated the revival of sailing in the region. Attendees last night and at today’s conference are also invited to share their best photos with Cruise Weekly on Instagram using the hashtag #ILoveCruiseWeekly, with the yet-to-be-announced winner scoring a bottle of champagne.
