THE Australian Transportation
Safety Bureau has released a
report on the Spirit of Tasmania
II which was blown off the wharf
at the Port of Melbourne while
loading passengers on 13 Jan this
year during a severe storm.
Nobody was injured in the
incident but wharf cargo and
vehicle loading infrastructure was
seriously damaged.
A band of severe thunderstorms
was passing through the area
with little notice, with the ship’s
crew responding quickly to the
