WITH Joel Katz, MD, CLIA Australasia – Put cruise in the plan: While a big part of Australia’s
population remains in lockdown,
it’s still important for our industry
to secure a plan for the future so
that we’re ready when conditions
allow a careful return to cruising.
In recent days CLIA has been
working with MPs to arrange
more detailed discussions with
health officials, so we can work
through the extensive new health
protocols that will underpin our
revival.
Now that Australian govts have
agreed to develop a four-phase
plan to ease travel restrictions
and other COVID-19 measures,
CLIA is making this a key focus of
our lobbying.
We are working to ensure
cruising is included in this
plan and that a pathway to
resumption is opened.
To help support our efforts,
we’re urging travel advisors,
industry suppliers and other
stakeholders to hold their own
meetings with MPs, to show
them how the current crisis is
impacting real Australians.
To get involved, visit Meet Your
MP where you’ll find an online
toolkit with instructions on how
to seek a meeting with your MP
and put forward your personal
case for cruising’s revival.
