BOATS are usually meant to float, but I guess no kind of trip is too good for an ancient Egyptian monarch.
A 4,500-year-old boat (pictured) belonging to Khufu, who was the second Pharaoh of the Fourth Dynasty of Egypt, was on the weekend transferred to the Grand Egyptian Museum by a large, specialised remote-controlled vehicle, over two days.
Khufu ship was formerly located at the Giza Solar boat museum, but thanks to the painstaking task, is now found at the due-to-be-inaugurated museum.
The 20-tonne cedarwood boat has joined 100,000 other artefacts at the soon-to-be-opened museum.
