A boat builder has finally set sail from Carnarvon, four years after becoming stranded in the Western Australian town.
Back in 2018, Hybrid Arc’s skipper found himself stranded in Carnarvon when the town’s harbour became too shallow for his 22-metre ship.
However, the 75-year-old put his time stranded in the town to good use, taking the opportunity to get to work rebuilding 10 of the Carnarvon Yacht Club’s 14-foot windrush yachts.
Last week, the perfect conditions arose for the retired civil engineer to embark on his next adventure, and after a successful launch, he has resumed his solo circumnavigation of Australia, travelling east.
